Pause. Rewind. Can we please push the rewind bottom? I don't want this season to be over. Seems like just yesterday I was at last years banquet running through the parking lot announcing to everyone that Ashley Fritts was going to be Coed Elite's team mom....and she didn't even know we were signing her up for the job. And now I am just getting home from this years banquet where we not only celebrated a successful season, but the journey of the Ashley's Army. Courtney Smith Pope recognizes every athlete on the team with an award and talks about what makes them special and important to the team. This year she picked a song that represented each member on the team. (When does this woman sleep?) Each senior speaks for a couple minutes. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. Hard to see your team mates unable to get through their speeches because they can't hold back the tears and the emotions. We weren't just a family this year! We were an ARMY - Ashley's Army. We had a mission and a purpose. Thank you to everyone that sent well wishes and prayers to Ashley this season. Surgeries and chemo treatments are done and it looks like she is on the road to recovery and hopefully to a happy and healthy life. And doesn't Ashley look so cute with her short hairdo? Makes me want to cut my hair! April was a busy month...lots of practices getting ready for Worlds. Worlds 2013 was incredible. Of course, I wanted to be "Golden Holden" this year...but I am proud to be "Bronzed." So proud of our team. Congratulations to Top Gun Large Coed, Cheer Athletics Cheetahs, and the rest of the Large Coed division. It was a great year of competition. I love performing in the HP Milk House on the Worlds floor. And now the Worlds floor has arrived in the CEA Kernersville gym. Thank you Courtney Smith Pope for bringing the Worlds floor home! I was very happy to see CEA Senior Elite take home the Gold medal and CEA Small Senior Sharks take home the Silver medal. It was so much fun to see old friends and make new ones. Dreams do come true at Disney. Looking forward to the end of the school year and the beginning of summer. It is going to be a very busy summer. I will be back on the diving boards, I will be headed to Myrtle Beach for CEA team beach camp. i wolla so be doing some additional traveling. I will be a VIP at Camp Woodward East in Pennsylvania from June 26 - July 3...and then hopefully to Camp Woodward West in California in July. Come tumble with me at Camp Woodward! Watch my Instagram and Twitter for dates. Let's all set some goals and get some new skills for the new season. Hope everyone has a great summer. Cheers, Holden
